Clinical Specialist Consultant
The Clinical Specialist Consultant will work under the supervision of the Clinical Outcomes Team on a contract basis. In this role you will provide educational and sales support in the implementation of the Kurin product portfolio, and blood culture collection best practices.
Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Providing product and disease state education to clinicians (RNs, Phlebotomists, EMTs, MDs) in acute care settings
- Support sales activities through clinical audits, inventory tracking, product stocking support, product compliance follow up, etc.
Candidate preferences:
- Minimum credentials required for the Clinical Specialist Consultant position are RN or CLS.
- Work history of at least one year in an acute care hospital setting, emergency department or critical care experience is preferred
- Experience in clinical education and/or training
Prospective hire needs to know:

- Clinical Specialist/Product Technical Expert
- Communicate and educate customers on the benefits of blood diversion during the blood collection process and the effects on false positive blood culture results
- Provide direct education, training, and clinical support to healthcare professionals on the proper use of Kurin blood culture collection sets and clinical best practice guidelines in blood culture collection
- Fully monitor clinical support activities and follow up, clinical troubleshooting, changes in the market and within accounts, as well as competitive activity in collaboration with sales
- Provide field training and management to clinical specialist consultants
- Develop and continuously improve training curriculums, customer training materials and tools based on clinical practice guidelines and SOP
- Use multiple sales disciplines learned during Kurin sales training to navigate the complex sales cycle
- Build the business by attending tradeshows and supporting Kurin Sales Representatives across the country
- Communicate effectively with internal team members, including management, in terms of building monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets
- Other tasks as directed by Kurin leadership
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in healthcare related field
- 2+ years clinical nursing or phlebotomy experience with direct patient care required
- Emergency and/or critical care area experience strongly preferred
- Technical expertise in phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement
- Previous experience in clinical training of best practice guidelines within scope of practice strongly preferred
- Previous experience developing and working with cross functional teams to lead successful QI projects
- Strong, effective written and verbal communication skills, experience giving presentations, and interpersonal relationship skills
- Proven excellence in problem-solving and critical thinking skills with strict attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Fluency in English required (speaking and writing)
- Expertise in MS Office suite, especially Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
- Must be able to work within a collaborative team centered environment
- Willingness and expectation to travel within the assigned territory as needed
- Valid driver’s license
